i finally pieced everything together, might add that the chocolate and cold milk helped a lot. Post Reichenbach Trauma has dissipated etc. and i am thinking clearly once again.
to all those of you who have watched the glorious masterpiece of british television titled The Reichenbach Fall, we are left with a grueling and heartbreaking chain of events. many more questions remain unanswered as the final moments of the episode unfold. shattered as we might be from the emotional strain and blurry as our vision may seem from the swelling of blood vessels in our eyes and secretions from our lacrimal glands, we must stay alert and be keen with our senses still… as sherlock would’ve wanted us to ! observe, my fellow sherlockians, how everything falls into place. first we must remind ourselves that sherlock is sherlock holmes, unavoidably thinking 3 or 4 steps ahead of the game. there is a structured approach he’s taking going into the lion’s den. i will simply point to a single key component: MOLLY. next, we must perceive carefully every detail of the “ledge” situation. although it is extremely brief and literally flashes by, you can spot a truck of some sort with a large surface area. upon closer observation after the fall, glimpses of bags are to be seen. therefore, one can use our rookie deduction / fandom wishful-thinking / imagination to create a scenario where an illusion takes place, naturally. the sequence is as follows: sherlock steps off, falls, the landing is obscured by the parked vehicle, john is intercepted by both shock and a bicyclist, disoriented and tossed about by the group of people and the entirety of the tragedy. john believed it. but it left a nagging feeling in my chest, it seemed almost orchestrated. my conclusion based on certain screencaps of the scene leads me to believe that he had not only fallen into the padding of the truck-bed’s contents, but had an accomplice (or two ?) to provide the landing, the body and the distraction. for further enlightenment, i suggest a clear-headed “for educational purposes” review of the tragic scene and a reading of The Adventures of the Empty House. nonetheless, all will be revealed in due time.
overall reaction, very very VERY pleased. there were tears, trembling, brief bloody nose, screams, violent sobs, expressions of anger/grief/joy/confusion, overall remarks of unadulterated praise and of course, great great enjoyment on my behalf as a vivacious viewer long anticipating this episode. i must say that the buildup to it was tremendously exhilarating (in case you were wondering, i do have a flair for the dramatic and did my part). and during the episode i was on my toes the whole time ! beautiful blend of references from the ACDcanon and of course, i loved the MAGPIE cameo. sad to see moriarty go, he is one clever wicked little magpie. he was a lot of fun and definitely caught my whole attention from the start. richard brooks, did not see that coming. can i also mention the confrontation scene in the bathroom with kitty riley ? tense. something inside me started stirring, i think it was a sense of discomfort because i wanted to magically transport myself into that bathroom in the old Bailey and bitch-slap her all over the place for making advances. anyways !!! HAT-PUNCH. mrs. hudson i love you. lestrade, i respect you. anderson and donovan, GTFO. mycroft, we’ll talk later… but i have an inkling that he knew everything about the end all along, how could he not though ? oh which reminds me, membership to the diogenes club expires soon must renew. john comes in SHOUTING, two guards escort him out, they are wearing shoe covers LOL. whatelsewhatelse… i’m delirious and i seek rest for my weary eyes. i just want to make a shout out to the brilliant team that made all this suffering and joy and overall wonderfulness possible, here’s a round of applause for the exceptionally brilliant second season, its terrific first and cheers to a stellar third.
because like john, we believe in sherlock, always.
and in conclusion, i’m proud to most convincingly say:
I AM S H E R LOCKED.
